It’s been a hard day’s night
And I’ve been workin’ like a dog
It’s been a hard day’s night
I should be sleepin’ like a log
But when I get home to you
I find the things that you do
Will make me feel all right
You know I work all day
To get you money to buy you things I
And it’s worth it just to hear you say
You’re gonna give me everything
So why on earth should I moan?
‘Cause when I get you alone
You know I feel okay
Hey, pardon me for askin’, but who’s that little old man?
-Uh, what little old man? -That little old man.
Oh, that one. That’s my grandfather.
-Your grandfather? -Yeah.
-That’s not your grandfather. -It is, you know.
But I’ve seen your grandfather. He lives in your house.
Oh, that’s my other grandfather, but he’s my grandfather as well.
How do you reckon that one out?
Well, everyone’s entitled to two, aren’t they?
And this is my other one.
We know that, but what’s he doin’ here?
Well, my mother thought the trip would do him good.
-How’s that? -He’s nursin’ a broken heart.
Ah, poor old thing.
Hey, mister, are you nursin’ a broken heart?
He’s a nice old man, isn’t he?
He’s very clean.
-Hello, grandfather. -Hello.
He can talk then, can he?
Of course he can talk. He’s a human being, isn’t he?
If he’s your grandfather, who knows?
-And we’re lookin’ after him, are we? -I look after meself.
Yeah, that’s what I’m afraid of.
-He’s got you worried then? -Him? He’s a villain, a real mixer.
And he costs you a fortune in breach-of-promise cases.
-Get on. -No, straight up.
-Hello, Shake. -Hello, Shake.
You got on all right then?
不
No.
Oh? Well, we’re here.
Norm will be along in a minute with the tickets.
Hey, who’s the little old man?
It’s Paul’s grandfather.
-Oh, aye? But I thought… -No, that’s his other one.
Oh, that’s all right then.
Clean though, isn’t he?
Oh, aye. He’s very clean.
Mornin’, lads.
Hi, Norm. Good morning. Good morning, Norm.
Thank God, you’ve all got here.
Look, I’ve had a marvelous idea.
Just for once, let’s all try to behave like ordinary,
respectable citizens.
Let’s not cause any trouble, pull any strokes…
or do anything I’m gonna be sorry for.
Especially tomorrow in that television theater, becau…
Are you listening to me, Lennon?
You’re a swine. Isn’t he, George?
Yeah, a swine.
Thanks. Hey!
Who’s that little old man?
-Well, who is he? -He belongs to Paul.
Oh, well. I’m going down for a cup of coffee.
-Anyone coming? -We’ll follow you down.
I want me coffee.
You can come with Shake and me if you like.
Look after him. I don’t want to find you’ve lost him.
别这样
Don’t be cheeky.
I’ll bind him to me with promises.
Very clean, isn’t he?
Come out, granddad.
Make up your mind, will you?
Hello. Morning.
早
All right?
哇
Whoa.
Do you mind if we have it open?
Yes, I do.
Yeah, but there are four of us, and we’d like it open.
That’s if it’s all the same to you, that is.
It isn’t. I travel on this train regularly… twice a week.
-So I suppose I have some rights. -So have we.
And we’ll have that thing off as well. Thank you.
但
But
An elementary knowledge of the railway acts would tell you
that I’m perfectly within my rights.
Yeah, but we want to hear it. There’s more of us than you.
We’re a community-majority vote, up the workers and all that stuff.
Then I suggest you take that damn thing into the corridor…
or some other part of the train… where you obviously belong.
Give us a kiss.
Look, mister, we paid for our seats too, you know.
I travel on this train regularly… twice a week.
Knock it off, Paul. You can’t win with his sort.
After all, it’s his train. isn’t it, mister?
Don’t take that tone with me, young man.
I fought the war for your sort.

Hello, Miss Lark I got one for you
Miss Lark likes to walk in the park with Andrew.
Hello, Andrew.
Generosity itself, that’s what you are.
No charge.
Oh, it’s you! Hello.
Number 17 Cherry Tree Lane, you say?
All right. Come along with me.
This here’s Cherry Tree Lane.
Nice little spot, you might say.
Number 17’s just down a bit.
Now, this imposing edifice what first greets the eye…
is the home of Admiral Boom…
late of His Majesty’s Navy.
Likes his house shipshape, he does…
shipshape and bristol fashion at all times.
-Time gun ready? -Ready and charged, sir.
-Three minutes and six seconds. -Aye, aye, sir.
What he’s famous for is punctuality.
The whole world takes its time from Greenwich.
But Greenwich, they say, takes its time from Admiral Boom.
What cheer, Admiral?
Good afternoon to you, young man. Where are you bound?
Number 17. Got some parties here in tow what wants to see it.
-Enter that in the log. -Aye, aye, sir.
A word of advice, young man:
Storm signals are up at Number 17.
Bit of heavy weather brewing there.
Thank you, sir. Keep an eye skinned.
Here we are. Number 17 Cherry Tree Lane.
Residence of George Banks, Esquire.
Hello, hello, hello. The Admiral’s right.
Heavy weather brewin’ at Number 17, and no mistake.
-Leave her alone! -Shut up!
I’ll show you. Don’t you be trying to stop the wretched creature!
Let her go, that’s what I say, and good riddance!
I never liked her from the moment she set foot in the door.
But who gets stuck with the children with no nanny in the house?
Me, that’s who!
Her and her high and mighty ways!
And that face of her that would stop a coal barge, it would.
Indeed, Mrs Brill! I wouldn’t stay in this house another minute…
not if you heap me with all the jewels in Christendom.
No, no, Katie Nanna, don’t go!
Stand away from that door, my girl!
But what am I gonna tell the master about the children?
It’s no concern of mine.
Those little beasts have run away from me for the last time.
They must be somewhere. Did you look around the zoo in the park?
You know how Jane and Michael is.
Coo! You don’t think the lion could’ve got at them, do ya?
You know how fond they was of hangin’ around the cage.
I said my say, and that’s all I’ll say.
I’ve done with this house forever.
Well, hip, hip, hooray!
And don’t stumble on the way out, dearie.
Now, now, Katie Nanna!
Mrs Banks! She’s home!
Our daughter’s daughters will adore us and we’ll sing in grateful chorus
“Well done, Sister Suffragette”
Good evening, Katie Nanna, Ellen.
We had the most glorious meeting!
Mrs Whitbourne-Allen chained herself
to the wheel of the Prime Minister’s carriage.
You should’ve been there.
Mrs Banks, I would like a word with you.
And Mrs Ainslie, she was carried off to prison…
singing and scattering pamphlets all the way!
I’m glad you’re home, madam. I’ve always given the best that’s in me…
Oh, thank you, Katie Nanna.
I always knew you were one of us.
We’re clearly soldiers in petticoats
And dauntless crusaders for women’s votes
Though we adore men individually
We agree that as a group they’re rather stupid
-Mrs Banks. -Cast off the shackles of yesterday
Shoulder to shoulder into the fray
Our daughter’s daughters will adore us
And they’ll sing in grateful chorus
“Well done Sister Suffragette”
Being that as it may, I do not wish to offend, but I…
From Kensington to Billingsgate one hears the restless cries
From every corner of the land womankind arise
Political equality and equal rights with men
Take heart for Mrs Pankhurst has been clapped in irons again
No more the meek and mild subservients we
We’re fighting for our rights militantly
If I may have a word, Mrs Banks.
-So cast off the shackles of yesterday -Mrs Banks!
And shoulder to shoulder into the fray
Our daughter’s daughters will adore us
And they’ll sing in grateful chorus
-Where are the children? -The children, madam…
to be precise, are not here.
They’ve disappeared again.
Katie Nanna, this is really too careless of you.
Doesn’t it make the third time this week?
The fourth, madam. And I for one have had my fill of it.
I’m not one to speak ill of the children, but…

Just had a robbery. Almost $1 0,000.
So I gathered. By a pretty girl with no references.
You remember her. I pointed her out to you last time you were here.
You said something about how I was improving the looks of the place.
Oh, that one! The brunette with the legs.
Excuse me. Mr Rutland’s a client.
I don’t think you’ve got time to discuss business today, Mr Strutt,
what with your crime wave on your hands.
Oh, no, no. Always time for Rutland business. You know that.
Thanks.
Oh, it’s you. Where’s my mother?
She’s makin’ a pecan pie… for me!
那身份
That figures.
Who is it, Jessie?
– Hello, Mama. – Well, I just swan. Marnie!
If you’re not the very limit.
I can’t take in the way you jump all over the place like you do.
Boston, Massachusetts. Elizabeth, New Jersey.
I brought you some chrysanthemums.
Those gladiolas are brand fresh. Miss Cotton brought ’em last night.
I never could stand gladiolas. I ‘ ll get rid of these.
For land’s sake – Marnie, now watch the dripping.
Here, Jessica, why don’t you take these home to your mother?
She don’t get home from work till 6::00.
I’m supposed to stay here till 6::00.
Take them to the kitchen then. Just get rid of them.
Take ’em to the kitchen before they drip all over.
We could stand gladiolas!
I send you plenty of money. You don’t have to be a baby-sitter.
Whoever said I did have to? It’s my pleasure.
That smart little ol’ Jessie.
Marnie, if you could just hear some of the things that she says.
Oh, but I do.
Seems I get a report in exhaustive detail
on all the bright sayings of ol’ Jessie Cotton.
What’s more, every time I come home, she’s roosting here.
I see that you’ve lighted up your hair, Marnie.
– A little. Why? Don’t you like it? – No.
Too-blonde hair always looks like a woman’s tryin’ to attract the man.
Men and a good name don’t go together.
I brought you something, Mama.
Now what have you thrown good money away on?
Oh, Marnie.
You shouldn’t spend all your money on me like you do.
But that’s what money’s for: to spend.
Like the Bible says, “Money answereth all things.”
We don’t talk smart about the Bible in this house, missy!
Well, I just swan! How do I wear it?
Like this. Real high up under the chin.
Oh, it’s smart, it’s very, very smart.
Goin’ around buyin’ fur pieces like they was nothin’.
Mr Pemberton gave me another raise.
I told Miss Cotton my daughter is private
secretary to a millionaire.
He’s as generous with her as if she was his very own daughter.
Miss Bernice, don’t you want to get my hair brushed up
– before my mommy gets home? – I sure do, honey.
You run up and get the brush.
Oh, that kid and her hair.
Puts me in mind of yours when you was little. The colour.
This side of the street don’t get the afternoon sun.
My hip and my leg ache me somethin’ awful.
I got the hairbrush!
Uh, Marnie, mind my leg.
I never had time to take care of Marnie ‘s hair
when she was a little kid like you.
– How come? – Oh, child!
Well, after I had my bad accident,
first I was sick so long, and then I had to work.
Didn’t you all have a daddy either?
No, we didn’t. We surely did not!
这样
There.
As pretty as brushin’ can make you.
Oh, sugarpop, it’s five after 6:00. You better scat on home.
And you be sure to take your mama those glads.
How ‘ bout my pie? How ‘ bout my pecan pie?
I ‘ ll get it done tonight and bring it over to you.
Now, Jessie, you mind you go straight home.
OK. Bye, Miss Bernice. See you later, Miss Bernice.
Do you really like the scarf, Mama?
It’s real mink.
Oh, there. You look just like an old man’s darling.

For more than a year, ominous rumors had been privately circulating
among high-level Western leaders that the Soviet Union had been at work
on what was darkly hinted to be the ultimate weapon: A doomsday device.
Intelligence sources traced the site of the top-secret Russian project
to the perpetually
fog-shrouded wasteland below the Arctic peaks of the Zhokhov Islands.
What they were building or why it was
located in a remote, desolate place no one could say.
-General Ripper, sir. -Group Captain Mandrake speaking.
-This is General Ripper speaking. -Yes, sir. -Do you recognize my voice?
-I do, sir. Why do you ask? -Why do you think?
I don’t know, sir. We spoke just a few moments ago, didn’t we?
You don’t think I’d ask unless it was pretty damned important, do you?
-No, I don’t. -Let’s see if we can stay on the ball.
Has the Wing confirmed holding at their fail-safe points?
Yes, sir. The confirmations have just come in.
Very well. Now, listen to me carefully.
The base is being put on condition red.
I want this flashed to all sections immediately.
Condition red. Jolly good. Keeps the men on their toes.
-This is not an exercise. -Not an exercise?
I shouldn’t tell you this, but you’re a good officer and have a right ot know.
It looks like we’re in a shooting war.
-Oh, hell. Are the Russians involved? -That’s all I’ve been told.
It came in on the red phone. I’m gonna follow orders and seal this base tight.
Now, I want you to transmit Plan R, R for Robert, to the Wing.
-Plan R for Robert. -Is it that bad, sir?
-Looks like it’s pretty hairy. -Yes, sir. Plan R for Robert.
Last and possibly most important
I want all privately owned radios to be immediately impounded.
They might be used to issue instructions to saboteurs.
As I previously arranged, Air Police will have lists of all owners.
I want every one collected without exception.
After you’ve done that, report back to me.
In order to guard against surprise nuclear attack
America’s Strategic Air Command maintains a large force of
B-52 bombers airborne 24 hours a day.
Each B-52 can deliver a nuclear bomb load of 50 megatons
equal to 16 times the total explosive force of all the bombs
and shells used by all the armies in World War II.
Based in America,
the Airborne Alert Force is deployed from the Persian Gulf to the Arctic Ocean.
But they have one geographical factor in common.
They are all two hours from their targets inside Russia.
Major Kong, I know you’ll think this is crazy
but I just got a message from base over the C.R.M. 1♥1♥4♥.
It decodes as Wing attack Plan R. R for Romeo.
Goldie, did you say Wing attack Plan R?
Yes, sir, I have.
Goldie, how many times have I told you guys that
I don’t want horsin’around on the airplane?
I’m not horsing around. That’s how it decodes.
I’ve been to one world fair, a picnic and a rodeo,
and that’s the stupidest thing I heard over earphones.
-You sure you got today’s code? -Yes, sir.
There’s gotta be something wrong. Wait a second, I’m coming back.
-Maybe you’d better get a confirmation from base. -Yes, sir.
Major Kong, is it possible this is some kind of loyalty test?
You know, give the go code and then recall to see who would actually go?
Ain’t nobody ever got the go code yet.
Old Ripper wouldn’t be giving us Plan R unless them Ruskies
had already clobbered Washington and a lot of other towns with a sneak attack.
Yes, sir.
Major Kong, message from base confirmed.
Well, boys, I reckon this is it.
Nuclear combat toe-to-toe with the Ruskies.
Boys, I ain’t much of a hand at making speeches.
But I got a fair idea that something doggone important is going on back there.
I’ve got a fair idea of the kind of personal emotions that
some of you fellows may be thinking.
Heck, I reckon you wouldn’t be human beings
if you didn’t have pretty strong personal feelings about nuclear combat.
I want you to remember one thing. The folks back home are counting on you.
And by golly, we ain’t about to let them down. Tell you something else.
If this thing turns out to be half as important as I figure it might be
I’d say you’re all in line for
The general is in the powder room right now.
Could you tell me what it’s about? Just a second.
Apparently they monitored a transmission eight minutes ago
from Burpelson Air Force Base.
Right. It was directed to the 843rd Bomb Wing on airborne alert.
It decoded as Wing attack Plan R.
Well, tell him to call what’s -his-name, Base Commander Ripper.
The general asks if you could possibly try again yourself. I see.
He says he’s tried personally several times, but everything is dead.
Even the normal phone lines are shut down.
Fred? Buck. What’s it look like?
and old Bucky will be back before you can say “Blastoff! ”
Your Commie has no regard for human life, not even his own.
For this reason, men,
I want to impress upon you the need for extreme watchfullness.
The enemy may come individually or he may come in strength.
He may even come in the uniform of our own troops.
But however he comes, we must stop him.
We must not allow him to gain entrance to this base.
Now, I am going to give you three simple rules.

If you use your head.
That’s because everybody here has become very rich…
or else they are dead.
You will get rich here, or you’ll be killed.
Juan de Dios tolls the bell once again.
It’s not smart to go wandering so far from home.
I reckon he picked the wrong trail.
Or he could have picked the wrong town.
His big mistake, I think, was getting born.
If you want any work, lookin’ like that…
you could try bein’ a scarecrow.
Oh, no, the crows are liable to scare him maybe.
Hello.
你好
You can’t get rich like that.
At most, you will only succeed in being killed.
With all of the trouble we have, all we needed was you.
What are you looking for? Food and something to drink.
Water’s over there. No, no water.
I know. You have no money.
After all, you just got into town.
But if you don’t mind doing a little killing…
You will have no trouble finding someone eager to pay you.
My roulette wheel. That, too, was murdered.
No one ever comes here to play.
We spend our time here between funerals and burials.
Never saw a town as dead as this one.
You will never see another like it.
What’s wrong with the place? We’ve had too many killings.
You have seen the women?
None of them are women. They’re widows.
The place is only widows.
Here you can only gain respect by killing other men.
So nobody works anymore.
Seems somebody doesn’t share your opinion.
Yes.
是的
Know why Piripero looked you over?
To take your measurements.
He is so experienced. he can do it with a glance.
You will be a customer.
Don’t laugh. I’m not joking.
I want to warn you that those murderers will make a corpse out of you one day.
That’s why I want you to get out of here.
You don’t want to stay in this cemetery.
They cross the frontier to stock up on guns and liquor.
The cost is much less here.
Then they go back and sell the guns and liquor to the Indians.
Any town that sells guns and liquor has gotta be a rich one.
Not the town, only those who buy and sell…
and the bosses are the ones who clean up.
Yeah? Somebody has to run the place. Every town has a boss.
That’s true, but when there are two around…
Yeah, we met.
But you’re lucky. They don’t usually limit their fire to the mule.
If you’re thinking what I suspect, I tell you, don’t try it.
Go get your mule.
You let him get away from you?
That’s what I want to talk to you about.
I understand you men were just playin’ around.
But the mule… He just doesn’t get it.
Of course, if you were to all apologize.
I don’t think it’s nice, you laughin’.
My mule don’t like people laughin’.

Achtung!
It was in the Clouvet collection, wasn’t it?
是的
It was.
Do you like it?- Need you ask?
This is degenerate art, you know.
As a loyal officer of the Third Reich, I should detest it.
I’ve often wondered at the curious conceit that would attempt
to determine tastes and ideas by decree.
Many times over the past four years I have wanted to thank you.
For not being what you’d expected?
For saving all this. Protecting it.
Do you feel free to thank me now because the liberation of Paris is so close?
Perhaps.
It’s not necessary.- I could have been sent away.
Someone else brought in to be in charge of the museum.
Perhaps I should thank you.
I was foolish.
I knew of books being burned.
Other things.
I was terrified that these would be lost.
A book is worth a few francs.
We Germans can afford to destroy those.
We all may not appreciate artistic merit, but cash value is another matter.
You won’t convince me that you’re cynical.
I know what these paintings mean to you.
You are a perceptive woman.
We’re removing the paintings.
Pack them carefully.- Where are you taking them?
To a safe place.- But no place is as safe as Paris.
The city has been declared open. It won’t be bombed or shelled.
上尉
Captain.
I want these at the station tomorrow, crated and ready to be put on the train.
I hold my land from MacCruachan,as my father did,
by bringing him 20 fighting men from amongst my tenants.
These I have brought.
To this man, who is rent, today’s battle is a matter of honour.
I fight today because it is an honour
to be with my chief, MacDhomhnuill,
and because my father fought beside his father.
To this man, who is rent, the battle is a matter of revenge.
I fight first for MacDhomhnuill, then for Charlie.
Then because the Campbells, who did steal my cows,
are with the enemy.
I have also raised over 100 men from Rannoch.
Some were unwilling. With these, I used force.
Alistair McVurrich, told by his taxman that if he did not fight
he would have his cattle taken and his roof burnt.
This is the system of the clan,
a system that has brought on to the moor over 4,000 men,
men from Argyll and Inverness, from Moidart, Appin and the isles,
Catholics, Episcopalians,Presbyterians,
the MacDonalds, the MacLeans, the Chisholms, the Camerons,
the Farquharsons, the Frasers, men of 14 major Highland clans.
Men like this.Donald Cameron of Loch Eil,
chief of the powerful clan Cameron,
fearing for the survival of the ancient and ruthless society
to which he belongs.
Because he is here on the moor, most of the other chiefs are here.
Because he is here, Keppoch is here.
Because I feel that the Act of Union with England
is a betrayal.
Because Prince Charles is a Catholic and I am a Catholic.
And the king in London is a Protestant.
Because Charles is part Scot
and I am a Scot.
And the king in London is a German.
Prince Charles Edward Stuart,
the centre of all these men’s hopes, himself half-Polish.
Age 25 and four months,
son of the exiled James the Pretender,
he landed in Scotland nine months ago,
raised the clan army on a Highland surge of nationalism,
marched to Derby and came within an ace of toppling the Hanoverian dynasty
and regaining the throne for his father.
Though since forced to retreat back into the Highlands
and despite all evidence to the contrary,
Charles remains supremely confident
both of victory and his welcome by the English people.
King George ll is both a usurper and a tyrant.
He’s kept my father’s crown
by enslaving all the people of this island.
He’s deemed unpopular
and I know that once victory is mine
the people of England will welcome me.
Lord George Murray, age 51.
Lieutenant General in the clan army.
As their commanding officer,
this man forged the undisciplined Highlanders
into an army that not only almost reached London
but that also twice reduced superior English forces
into a panic-stricken rout,
first at Prestonpans,then at Falkirk.
Blunt, imperious, this man has bitterly quarreled with Charles
over the chaos in the army administration
and over the choice of this battlefield,
chosen by John William O’Sullivan.
Flat, treeless, devoid of shelter,
ideal for the employment by the British army
of its cannon and cavalry.
And from behind the shelter of these walls,
which O’Sullivan has refused to pull down,
Lord George Murray also fears both crossfire and outflanking.
Mr O’Sullivan,
in view of what Lord George feels about the battlefield,
have you inspected the ground yourself?
– No, I have not.- Why not?
Because I don’t deem it necessary.
It is a large, plain moor
and, as such, it’s a fair field for the enemy horse and cannon

Grandmother.
Come closer.
Take this to your village
and tell the people
the day of their deliverance is at hand.
Make way for Prince Prospero!
Get back there!
According to my custom,
I have come here personally
to thank you for the year’s harvest.
To make sure we’ll starve on what is left.
And to invite you to a feast
to be held in a fortnight,
where annually I gather about me the nobles of the countryside.
And you’ll throw us the scraps from your table as if we were dogs.
没错
Exactly.
But these dogs have a loud bark and show their teeth.
Why?
An old woman met a holy man on the hill.
He made a prophecy.
He said the day of our deliverance was at hand.
From your tyranny.
Well then, shouldn’t you be on your knees to give thanks?
上刑
Garotte them.
No, I beg of you!
Mercy! Mercy! Mercy in the name of God!
The girl was addressing me. What is your name?
Francesca.
What do you want of me, Francesca?
Forgive them! Forgive them!
That is not possible.
They have defied me.
If my hound bites my hand
after I have fed and caressed him,
should I allow him to go undisciplined?
Forgive them, I beg of you.
How innocent you are.
However, I am disposed to temper justice with mercy.
So I will leave it up to you, Francesca.
One must die.
你来选
Which one?
One is my father.
The other, the man I love.
You promised me entertainment,
but I never hoped for this.
Can such eyes ever have known sin?
They will, Alfredo, they will.
However, this is not for your entertainment.
Even so, Francesca, you must choose.
One will live and one will die.
Or both will die.
Silence that!
Now, choose, Francesca, which will die?
选啊
Choose.
Do I have to take care of everything myself?!
– Well, what is it? – Look, sir, look.
The Red Death.
That old woman was told the prophecy?
– Yes. – Did you touch her?
– No. – Or you or you?
– Take them to the castle. I’ll take the girl. – No!
They may provide us with some entertainment after all.
To your horses, friends.
Burn the village to the ground.
Why do you burn their homes? Winter comes.
This is your day of deliverance, remember?
快点！快点！
Come on, there. Come on, hurry up. Come on, quick!
Come on, over there!
快点！快点！
Come on there! Come along!
Get moving there! Quickly, get along!
Now, get out of it!
快点！
Hurry up!
Couriers, you are to go to my intended guests.
To the Duke of Verga, to Verona, Florence.
Tell them that they are to come here to my castle without delay.
And if they wish admittance, to avoid the village of Catania,
but to come at once.
– You will wash! – In my own time.
The prince says now is the time!
I will do nothing until I know about Gino and my father!
Modesty but no humility.
Gino and my father, where are they?
Why do you hide yourself?
It’s not right that you should look at me.
You may go.
That cross you wear around your neck,
is it only a decoration?
or are you a true Christian believer?
Yes, I believe.
真的
Truly.
Then I want you to remove it at once
and never to wear it within this castle again.
The peasant girl, is she always to be bathed in my bedroom?
We’ll find you another room, Juliana.
Meanwhile, you will dress the Lady Francesca in one of your finest gowns.
– I don’t… – Later, you can instruct her
in the ways of the court.
Please, my father?
Oh, yes, your father.
嗯
Hmm.
Your father and your lover are being quartered
in a warm and safe place.
Now I must join my guests.
You may think that you’ve impressed the Prince Prospero,
but you can count on little help from me.
You will do as he told you.
Yes, as we all must do.
I will do what I must to save my men.
But if they are killed,
I will die…
and so will Prince Prospero.
Let me speak to you about the anatomy of terror.
Terror?
What would you know of terror, Alfredo?
Your senses are much too blunt.
What is terror?
来吧
Come.
安静
Silence.
听
Listen.
Is it to awaken and hear the passing of time?
Or is it the failing beat of your own heart?
Or the footsteps of someone who,
just a moment before, was in your room?
But let us not dwell on terror.
The knowledge of terror is vouchsafed
only to the precious few.
And now may I present for your entertainment,
the dancers Esmeralda and Hop Toad.
Wherever did you find her?
